Working with Ski.com is easy and profitable. Here are some answers to questions about selling Ski.com products and working with Ski.com.

WHEN DO I RECEIVE MY COMMISSION CHECK?

Commission checks are issued approximately 30 days after travel has been completed.

WHAT ITEMS ARE COMMISSIONABLE?

Lodging, rental cars, ground transfers, lift tickets, ski rentals, some ski lessons, some activities, some airfare.

IS MY COMMISSION PROTECTED IF MY CLIENTS CANCEL THEIR TRIP?

Yes, travel agent commissions are protected if the trip is cancelled within the 100% cancellation penalty time frame.

MY CLIENTS CLAIM TO HAVE FOUND A BETTER OFFER THAN ONE GIVEN BY SKI.COM. WHAT DO I DO?

Call or email your Ski.com agent with the information your client has found and we will try to match or beat the offer. As we all know, air and lodging rates are constantly changing.

DOES SKI.COM OFFER FAM TRIPS FOR TRAVEL AGENTS? WHAT OTHER TRAVEL OPPORTUNITIES DO YOU HAVE FOR TRAVEL AGENTS? HOW WOULD I FIND OUT ABOUT THOSE?

Ski.com is occasionally able to partner with resorts to offer FAM trips. Discounted travel agent lodging rates can only be obtained directly with a lodging supplier, and typically for "off-season" time frames. Make sure you we have your correct email address, so you will be notified of any agent opportunities.

DO SKIERS AND SNOWBOARDERS USE DIFFERENT LIFT TICKETS?

No. Skiers and snowboarders both use the same lift ticket which can be included in the package and is commissionable.

WHAT DOES SKI-IN/SKI-OUT REALLY MEAN?

It can mean different things to different people. Some properties may tout themselves as ski-in/ski-out, but might actually be 50 yards from the slopes. When in doubt, just ask us. We have visited the properties and can tell you exactly how far an accommodation is from the lifts, a certain restaurant, downtown or whatever is most important to your clients.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO BOOK A SKI-IN/SKI-OUT PROPERTY IF MY CLIENT IS ON A TIGHT BUDGET?

While this is possible in some destinations, it may not be in others. In both cases, keep in mind that ski-in/ski-out convenience will almost always cost more. Knowing exactly what your client wants to spend will help determine which type of property is right for them.

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF MY CLIENTS WOULD LIKE TO RENT SKIING OR SNOWBOARDING EQUIPMENT?

Simply find out if your clients are beginners, intermediates or advanced skiers or snowboarders. Your Ski.com agent can book the appropriate equipment based on this information and you make commission on the sale. If you'd like to really impress your clients, we can arrange for their rental equipment to be delivered to them in their hotel, condominium or private home.

SHOULD I BOOK A VEHICLE OR GROUND TRANSFER FOR MY CLIENTS?

The answer usually depends on the proximity of the resort to the airport and the number of travelers in the party. It can also depend on the location of and services offered by your clients' lodging accommodations. Once in the destination, however, most resorts are easy to get around on foot and/or have advanced public transportation systems.

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO BOOK? HOW EARLY CAN I BOOK?

To make sure you get your clients their preferred travel dates and accommodations – especially for the December Holidays/New Years, Presidents Day week and spring break – book as early as possible. Though some properties don't release availability until well into the summer months, your Ski.com agent can take your early-booking requests and work to get results for you as soon as the information becomes available.
